The transformation of ordinary machine tools into CNC mainly involves creative design of the structure of the original machine tool, so as to achieve a relatively ideal state of the machine tool. CNC lathe is a typical representative of mechatronics integration, and its mechanical structure has many similarities with ordinary machine tools. However, modern CNC machine tools are not simply equipped with CNC systems on traditional machine tools, nor are they based solely on local improvements on the basis of traditional machine tools (those that are limited by funding and other conditions, and those that modify traditional machine tools into recommended CNC machine tools are another matter). Traditional machine tools have some weaknesses, such as insufficient rigidity, poor vibration resistance, large thermal deformation, high frictional resistance of sliding surfaces, and gaps between transmission components, which make them difficult to meet the requirements of CNC machine tools for machining accuracy, surface quality, productivity, and service life. Modern CNC technology, especially machining centers, has undergone significant changes in their supporting components, main transmission system, feed transmission system, tool system, auxiliary function and other component structures, as well as overall layout and external shape, forming the unique mechanical structure of CNC machine tools. Therefore, in the process of CNC transformation of ordinary machine tools, we should consider various situations to make the performance indicators of ordinary machine tools as close as possible to CNC machine tools.
The significance of transforming ordinary machine tools into CNC:
1. Saving funds: Compared to purchasing new machine tools, the CNC transformation of machine tools can generally save about 60% of the cost, especially for large and special equipment. Generally, the renovation of large machine tools only costs one-third of the purchase cost of new machine tools. Even if the structure of the original machine tool is completely renovated and upgraded, it only costs 60% of the cost of purchasing a new machine tool, and the existing foundation can be utilized.
2. Stable and reliable performance: Due to the long-term aging of various basic components of the original machine tool, there is almost no stress deformation that affects accuracy.
3. Improve production efficiency: After CNC transformation, the machine tool can achieve automatic processing efficiency, which is 3 to 5 times higher than traditional machine tools. For complex parts, the higher the difficulty, the greater the improvement in efficiency.
With the continuous development of China's manufacturing industry and the continuous improvement of mechanical processing level, more and more CNC machine tools have replaced traditional machine tools. However, due to the high price of CNC lathes, ordinary enterprises cannot afford it. Therefore, CNC transformation of ordinary lathes has become a relatively reasonable way to effectively improve the automatic processing ability of the machine tool and improve the processing effect while controlling costs. Therefore, strengthening the research on the transformation of ordinary machine tools into CNC has important practical significance at this stage. It can comprehensively grasp the relevant technologies of CNC transformation of ordinary lathes, improve the effectiveness of CNC transformation, improve the work efficiency of lathes, better utilize the potential value of old equipment, and improve the economic benefits of mechanical processing enterprises.
