The difference between CNC lathe line rail and hard rail

1. Hard rail CNC lathe

The sliding contact surface of the hard rail is large, the rigidity is good, the anti-vibration ability is strong, and the load-bearing ability is strong, which is suitable for heavy-duty cutting. The hard rail belongs to dry conflict. Due to the large contact surface, the frictional resistance is also large, and the moving speed cannot be too fast. At the same time, it is prone to creeping phenomenon, and there are gaps in the moving surface, which will lead to processing errors. The machine tool track is the top priority of maintenance. Once the track is not smooth enough, it will cause the track to burn out or wear out transition, which is a fatal injury to the accuracy of the machine tool. The use of hard rail CNC lathes is suitable for heavy cutting, large molds, high hardness workpieces, and workpieces with general accuracy requirements.

2. Line rail CNC lathe

Nowadays, many machine tools run extremely fast, especially the idle speed, which largely depends on the performance of the line rails; the line rails can reach zero gap between the tracks after preloading, with high precision; in terms of service life, Line rails are much higher than hard rails. The cutting force of the linear rail is smaller than that of the hard rail, but for the hard rail, the linear rail implemented in many machine tools has greatly improved its bearing capacity. The use of line rail CNC lathes is suitable for high-speed machines, high-speed cutting, suitable for processing products and small fine molds. Nowadays, more fine machining centers use line rail CNC lathes.
